Mt. Kirigamine nature protection center that engages in activities to maintain the beautiful nature and landscape of Mt. Kirigamine. Mr. Akatsuka, who has attended it for 10 years interested in the nature of Mt. Kirigamine, has talked about the charm of the nature of Mt. Kirigamine and his related activities for us.

With human hands, the beautiful landscape has been maintained.

As I watch the nature every day, it changes rapidly from morning, afternoon to night, which is very attractive to me. Though first-time visitors may feel this is the natural figure of nature as it is, in fact it has been organized with human hands since long ago. It is very hard but very important to maintain this beautiful landscape.

I want as many people as possible to engage in the protection of nature.

To watch this much of area for the protection of landscape does take many a human hand. Meanwhile I am very glad that some come over from the metropolitan area to cooperate in the protection of environment. To maintain this wonderful landscape, I want as many people as possible to be engaged and become a member of ours.

Coexisting with the nature is a big issue.
Energetic engagement giving out the results.

Nowadays, as it is becoming a problem in other mountain areas, the damage to plants / crops by vermin of deer is becoming an issue alongside Venus line, too. If you just leave them, plants such as broad dwarf day-lily growing on the grassland will be eaten up by the increased number of deer. For now, we are engaged in light census (population census) or other as measures against deer to have begun to see the tangible results.

I want to continue protecting the natural environment together with members in the area.

Our activities can’t solve all the problems with just one method; every one of us has to come with ideas, give it a try, and wait for the result, a process to be repeated on and on (like PDCA). I alone couldn’t do anything, but I want you to join the members of this area, Mt. Kirigamine, to keep protecting the wonderful natural environment together.
